The intention of this study was to investigate the origins, manifestations, and effects of deviant behavior in the workplace at public sector institutions. To obtain rich and deep insights, a qualitative research approach was used to collect data through carefully interviews, focus groups, and observation. Diverse viewpoints were ensured by selecting participants from different departments and levels within the university. The application of thematic analysis was utilized to ascertain recurrent patterns and themes associated with deviant conduct. The research findings indicate that a number of significant elements, such as work discontent, organizational culture, leadership styles, and inadequate communication channels, are major contributors to deviant behavior. Numerous instances of aberrant behavior, including resource misuse, harassment, theft, and absenteeism, were noted. The study also clarified the harmful effects of deviant behavior on employee morale, declining organizational productivity, and deteriorating work conditions. In order to help policymakers, administrators, and human resource professionals successfully handle and minimize deviant behavior, this research offers thorough analysis of deviant behavior in public sector Universities.
