Abstract

This study examines the effect of Leadership Analytics (LA) on Employee Performance Ratings (EPR) within educational institutions in Karachi, addressing the limited empirical evidence on data-driven leadership practices in this sector. The primary objective is to determine whether analytically informed leadership enhances performance outcomes among teaching and administrative staff, and whether Financial Status (FS) moderates this relationship. The study adopts a quantitative research design, utilizing a structured questionnaire distributed among 120 employees across public and private educational institutions. SMARTPLS 4 was used to perform Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLSSEM) to assess construct reliability, path relationships, and model validity. Findings indicate that Leadership Analytics has a statistically significant and positive impact on Employee Performance Ratings (β = 0.551, p < 0.001). Financial Status also has a significant direct effect (β = 0.156, p = 0.045), but does not significantly moderate the LA–EPR relationship (β = -0.072, p = 0.270). Based on these findings, it is recommended that educational institutions prioritize data literacy and analytics training for leadership roles, and adopt standardized, transparent performance evaluation systems. Furthermore, financial wellbeing initiatives for employees may indirectly support performance outcomes. The study contributes to local literature by highlighting the relevance of leadership analytics in enhancing institutional effectiveness within Pakistan’s education sector.
